Cornerstone ceremony celebrates the construction of the new Hispano-Suiza Polska plant in Podkarpackie

Sędziszów Małopolski, April 28, 2016

Hispano-Suiza Polska, the Polish subsidiary of Hispano-Suiza (Safran), has started the construction of a second plant to bolster Safran production capacity. A symbolic cornerstone ceremony was held today in presence of Hélène Moreau-Leroy, CEO of Hispano-Suiza, Jan Sawicki, President and CEO of Hispano-Suiza Polska, and Pierre Buhler, French Ambassador in Poland.

The new facility will make components and subassemblies for the state-of-the-art LEAP jet engines from Snecma (Safran), that will power the new generation of single-aisle jets shortly to be introduced by Boeing, Airbus and Comac (China).

Started in last January, the new production plant will be located near the Hispano-Suiza Polska plant in Sędziszów. Completion of the construction work is planned in the first quarter of next year, with production starting in April 2017.

Within the next few years, Hispano-Suiza Polska plans to employ more than 300 people and is looking for process engineers, quality inspectors or machine operators for its new facility.

« Cette nouvelle usine est le symbole de la volonté de Safran et d'Hispano-Suiza de répondre à la demande croissante du marché aéronautique. Notre croissance, nous la poursuivons au sein de la région de Podkarpackie, reconnue pour son expertise et  son savoir-faire mécanique. Nous pouvons tous être fiers de contribuer au succès de demain d'un grand programme tel que le LEAP. » déclare Hélène Moreau-Leroy.
